Disclosure first. Tabula Rasa Studios makes personalised hypnotic audio: one session, scripted around one specific belief in the customer's own words, with composed sound, delivered as a 21-day programme. We do not ship an app. We are building one. So we are not in this ranking, and nothing below is arranged to make our absence look flattering. This comparison is drawn from each product's public materials, pricing pages and app-store listings as of August 2026. No placement here was paid for, and none of these companies has any relationship with us.
Which AI hypnosis app is best in 2026?
Reveri is the best AI hypnosis app for people who want clinical pedigree, InTheMoment for a genuinely conversational session generated from scratch, and Hypnothera for anyone who wants to read the script before hearing it. Clear Minds suits structured multi-week plans. HypnoBox suits tinkerers who want manual control. No single app wins for everyone.

InTheMoment
The hero line is "Hypnosis For Anything" and the tagline is "The Personal Trainer for Your Mind", which tells you the intended cadence: frequent, short, repeated.
- What it does well. The intake is a real conversation of roughly five turns rather than a dropdown menu, and the session is written afterwards. It remembers what you did last time and builds on the feedback you gave, so week three is not a re-run of week one. You control voice, length and technique. The free tier is unusually generous for a category this young: two sessions a day, stored for 60 days. It also publishes its own listicles ranking itself first and states the conflict out loud — "This is our app, so weigh my bias accordingly." That is a better disclosure than most of the category manages.
- Where it falls short. Five conversational turns is a lot for a chatbot and very little for a practitioner. In a first RTT session I would spend most of an hour finding the belief underneath the stated problem, because the thing people present with is rarely the thing driving it. A model that accepts your framing produces a competent session about the wrong target. There is also no published clinical involvement, and the weekly price point (£3.99) is designed for habit rather than resolution.
Hypnothera
"Rehearse the moment before it matters." The sub-headline is specific about occasion: "Walk in confident. Personalized guided hypnosis audio for moments of pressure, performance, and personal change — built around your goal, voice, and timeline."
- What it does well. One feature here matters more than everything else on the page. You can read the script before you listen to it. Hypnotic suggestion works partly through language you accept without much scrutiny, so being shown the exact words in advance is a meaningful transfer of control to the user, and almost nobody else offers it. Beyond that: 30-plus voices or your own, lengths from two minutes to 90, and a claimed 10+ languages. Company figures state 50,000+ sessions created and 6,000+ listeners. The site is built for discovery, with 40-plus condition pages under /hypnosis-for/, multi-day programmes under /journeys/, plus /best/, /alternatives/ and an /experts/ section listing 102 "influential thinkers" including Huberman, Spiegel and McKenna.
- Where it falls short. That /experts/ page is worth reading carefully. It presents named clinicians and public figures who, as far as their public materials show, have no involvement with the product, and a reader skimming it could come away with an impression the small print does not support. Session counts published by the company are unaudited. Breadth has a cost too: 40-plus condition pages generated at scale will inevitably include claims that sit close to the line, which is the point where you should apply our evidence standards rather than the marketing copy.
Reveri
Reveri is built on the work of Dr David Spiegel, Associate Chair of Psychiatry at Stanford, and it is the only product here with that kind of provenance. Hero line: "Change Your Mind. Change Your Life."
- What it does well. Sessions run around ten minutes, opening with roughly 30 seconds of questions, after which the content adapts. The structure is sound because the underlying method is sound, and Spiegel has spent decades on hypnotic responsiveness and its measurement. App-store rating sits at 4.5★ across 4.4K ratings, which is a large enough sample to mean something. Endorsements from Huberman and Tim Ferriss brought the category more mainstream attention than a decade of trade bodies managed.
- Where it falls short. Reveri is not fully generative, and it is worth understanding what that means before you pay. Your answers steer which pre-recorded material you get and how it sequences, but the words were written before you arrived. At $99.99 a year it is the most expensive subscription in this comparison, and its ten-minute format is deliberately narrow. People who want the clinical framing but a longer or more specific session usually end up reading about Reveri alternatives within a month or two.
Clear Minds
Clear Minds sells the "NeuroRewire™ Method", described as a combination of hypnotherapy, NLP, behavioural psychology and "immersive audio engineering". You take a quiz, receive a personalised plan, and work through it in the app.
- What it does well. The catalogue is deep at 350-plus sessions, the onboarding quiz produces a plan rather than a shelf of files, and the community is genuinely large — the company reports around 90,000 daily active members. For people who stall without structure, a plan with a running order beats a search bar.
- Where it falls short. NeuroRewire™ is a trademark, not a finding. A registered symbol tells you a lawyer filed a form; it carries no information about whether the method outperforms an ordinary hypnotic recording, and no published study sits behind the name. Pricing is not disclosed publicly, which makes cost comparison impossible before you hand over an email address. The personalisation is library assembly, so two people with different problems can receive substantially overlapping plans — the distinction I unpack in personalised vs generic hypnosis.
HypnoBox
- What it does well. HypnoBox hands you the controls: 700-plus customisable modules, dual-voice delivery, and the ability to import or record your own audio. At $14.99 a month or $59.99 a year it is the cheapest serious tool here, and its 4.7★ across 1.2K ratings is the highest rating in the comparison. If you already know what you want a session to contain, nothing else lets you build it this precisely.
- Where it falls short. Assembling a session yourself requires knowing what belongs in one, and most people don't — that is the whole reason practitioners exist. The interface shows its age. There is no AI generation at all, so anyone arriving from a search for AI generated hypnosis will find something different from what they expected.
Ash, and why it matters here
Ash from Slingshot AI is not a hypnosis product. It is chat-based, describes itself as "AI designed for mental health", has raised roughly $93M with a16z backing, and states plainly that "Ash is not designed to be used in crisis." I include it because it is setting the expectation that the rest of this category now has to meet: an AI that remembers your patterns between sessions and behaves as if it knows you. That expectation is arriving faster than the evidence for any of it.
What "AI hypnosis" actually means
The phrase covers at least three different products, and the differences change what you're buying.
- Generated from scratch. A model writes a script for you after an intake, then voices it. InTheMoment and Hypnothera work this way. Highest specificity, no editorial review of the words unless the product shows them to you.
- Assembled from a library. An algorithm selects and sequences pre-written material. Clear Minds and HypnoBox sit here. The words were reviewed by a human once, and they were not written about you.
- Adapted pre-recorded. Recorded content that shifts based on your inputs. Reveri does this. Strongest provenance, narrowest range.
None of these is inherently better. Generated audio is more specific and less reviewed; library audio is more reviewed and less specific. What you should not do is assume you're getting the first when you're paying for the third.
Three claims deserve scepticism. Success rates published without a linked study or sample size are marketing rather than data, and this category is full of them. Frequency claims are the clearest tell: solfeggio tones such as 528 Hz have effectively no clinical evidence base, and even the better-studied binaural approach is contested — Brain.fm has published that binaural beats produce weak neural synchrony compared with their own method. Then there are conditions no app should claim. UK ASA rules are explicit that depression, eating disorders and addiction must not be advertised as treatable outside qualified clinical supervision, and an app is not clinical supervision. The underlying picture is more interesting than the marketing anyway: hypnotic suggestion has a substantial peer-reviewed literature, and responsiveness varies between individuals in ways that are measurable. If you want the honest version, start with what hypnotherapy is and then does hypnotherapy work.
What we make, and where it fits
We write one session around one belief, in the words you used to describe it, with sound composed for that session, and you listen to it daily for 21 days. The pre-recorded sessions are $12. A bespoke single session is $42, a four-session pack is $120, and 1:1 work is $850. For context, the average US hypnotherapy session runs about $175, with a typical range of $100–250, which is the comparison we think is fair — see how much hypnotherapy costs.
Here is where these apps beat us, stated plainly. They are cheaper on a monthly basis, and several are free to start. They are instant: you can have audio in your ears in four minutes, where a bespoke session from us takes days because a person writes it. Reveri has Stanford research behind its method and we do not have equivalent published work behind ours. HypnoBox gives you more control over the mechanics than we do. And every one of them has an app, which we don't.
What we do differently is the intake and the specificity that follows from it. A model accepts the problem you type. I look for the belief underneath it, which is usually not the one you arrived with, and the session is written against that instead — the process behind the method, and the reason what a limiting belief is matters more than which app you choose. If you want custom hypnosis audio at software prices and software speed, one of the apps above is a better purchase than we are today.
FAQ
What is the best AI hypnosis app in 2026? Reveri is the strongest overall for clinical grounding, at $24.99 a month, built on Dr David Spiegel's work at Stanford. InTheMoment is better if you want sessions generated from scratch and remembered between uses. Hypnothera is better if you want to read the script before you listen. The right answer depends on whether provenance, specificity or control matters most to you.
Is an AI hypnotherapy app as good as seeing a hypnotherapist? They do different jobs. A practitioner spends most of a first session finding the belief underneath the presenting problem, which is the part an intake form cannot replicate. An app is far cheaper, available immediately, and good at repetition, which hypnotic work genuinely benefits from. Many people reasonably use both.
How much should a personalised hypnosis app cost? Subscriptions in this category run from about $14.99 a month (HypnoBox) to $99.99 a year (Reveri), with InTheMoment offering weekly billing at £3.99. Free tiers exist at InTheMoment and Hypnothera. Compare that with an average US hypnotherapy session at around $175, and judge which you actually need.
Is AI generated hypnosis safe? For most people, listening to a hypnotic recording is low-risk. The considerations are practical: don't listen while driving, and be cautious about products making claims around depression, eating disorders or addiction, which UK advertising rules say must not be advertised as treatable outside qualified clinical supervision. If you have a diagnosed condition, speak to a licensed professional before starting.
What's the difference between AI hypnosis and meditation apps? Meditation trains attention. Hypnotic work uses focused attention plus direct suggestion aimed at a specific belief or behaviour. The formats look similar from the outside and the underlying mechanisms differ, which is covered in hypnotherapy vs meditation.
Do I need an AI app, or will a recorded session do? If your goal is common and clearly defined, a well-made recording at low cost is often enough. Personalisation earns its price when the belief is specific to your history and the generic wording doesn't land. For non-AI options, see the best hypnosis apps of 2026.
